We are Fabienne and Ben, 2 bloggers, authors and web entrepreneurs from the french part of Switzerland. After working for 2 years in Vienna, we left backpacking around the world for 19 months (2013-2015). This was a real “life changing” experience and we discovered during this trip what the words “freedom” and “flexibility” really mean. When we came back to our beautiful Switzerland, we tried to go back to a “normal life”, working from Monday to Friday for a tech company in Zürich. But we quickly realised we were not happy with this life anymore. One evening, after a bottle of wine, we thought that the best way for us to be happy was to be our own boss, and to work on stuff we are passionnate about from places that ispire us.

Since 2016 we have been moving forward on the path of web entrepreneurship, embracing the digital nomad lifestyle. We have been blogging about our travels and WordPress, we wrote several books, we developed and optimized websites… and we did all of this remotly while traveling mostly across Europe or from our home base in a small village in the swiss mountains. Of course we’ve had some challenges along the way, but it is part of the fun and this life of freedom and adventures is what makes us truly happy now.

Keynote:
In the last two and a half years we’ve spent more than 12 months in several coliving spaces accross Europe. Be it in Spain, France, Bulgaria or the Canary islands we’ve discovered a new way of living that allows us to connect with like-minded people, discover new places while having a well thought-through work environment.

In our presentation we’ll first talk about the different types of colivings that have emerged in the last few years, and who their target audience is. We’ll give you our top reasons for coming back again and again to these places even though we travel and work as a couple but we’ll also share some of the reasons why we don’t do it full time.

Life is all about finding the perfect balance and coliving spaces are definitily part of our equilibrium. We hope that by sharing our journey some of you might get inspired to give coliving spaces a try in the future.
